  • 1 oz bourbon

  • 6 oz Shield cider

  • 1 tsp brown sugar (optional)

  • Orange wedge for garnish

Pour bourbon into the glass, add sugar if using and dissolve completely. Top with cider, stir gently and garnish with orange.

  • 2 oz dark rum

  • 1-1/2 oz Shield cider

  • 1-1/2 oz ginger beer

  • Dash of vanilla extract

  • Dash of orange juice (optional)

  • orange zest and maraschino cherry for garnish

Combine ingredients over ice in the glass and garnish with orange zest and cherry.

Serves 2

  • 12 oz Shield cider

  • 2 oz gin

  • 1/8 tsp pure vanilla extract

  • 1 black tea bag

  • 2 thin lemon slices

Bring the cider and vanilla to a boil.  Remove from heat and add the tea bag.  Steep 3 minutes.  Remove the tea bag and stir in the gin.  Serve with a lemon slice.

  • 4 oz Shield cider

  • 2 oz tequila

  • 1 tsp agave nectar

  • ½ oz fresh lemon juice

  • 1 tsp fresh mint leaves

  • 1 strip lemon zest

  • 1 small piece sliced fesh ginger

  • 1 sprig mint

Muddle mint leaves, ginger, lemon zest and agave in a cocktail shaker.  Add tequila, cider and ice.  Shake vigorously. Strain over crushed ice and serve with the mint sprig.

  • 3 parts Shield cider

  • 1 Part Vodka

  • 1/2 Part Peach Liqueur

  • 1/2 Part Pineapple Juice

  • 3 Round slices of Jalepeño

  • Lemon slices for garnish

Muddle Jalepeño in the mixing glass, top with ice, Vodka, Peach and Pineapple. Shake and strain over ice and top with Shield cider. Garnish with Lemon slices.

  • 1 ½ oz Tequila

  • ½ oz Agave Nectar

  • 1 oz Fresh Lime Juice

  • 5 oz Shield cider

  • 5 fresh basil leaves + 1 sprig for garnish

In a pint glass, add basil, spirits and mixers and hand-press with a muddler. Fill highball glass with ice and garnish with basil sprig. Enjoy!

  • 10 mint leaves, plus a sprig for garnish

  • 1 1/2 teaspoons superfine sugar

  • Shield Cider

  • Crushed ice

  • 2 1/2 ounces Kentucky bourbon whiskey

Place the mint leaves in the bottom of an old-fashioned glass and top with the sugar. Muddle these together until the leaves begin to break down. Add a splash of Shield Cider, fill the glass 3/4 full with crushed ice, and add the bourbon....

  • 2 oz. cognac

  • 3⁄4 oz. fresh lemon juice

  • 3⁄4 oz. simple syrup

  • 4 fresh raspberries

  • Shield Cider to top

Combine all ingredients except cider in a cocktail shaker with ice, and shake well to break down the raspberries. Strain the mixture through a fine-meshed sieve into a rocks glass filled with fresh ice. Top with a splash of Shield Cider.

  • 3 bottles Shield Cider

  • 5 cloves

  • 2 star anise (for extra flavor grind the anise with a mortar)

  • 2 sticks Cinnamon

  • ½ Orange

  • 1/8 teaspoon nutmeg

Wash the orange and cut it into slices.  Stick the cloves through the orange slices.  Mix all ingredients in a saucepan.  Bring to a slow boil, reduce heat and let it simmer 10 minutes.  Filter and serve.

  • 1 bottle Shield Cider

  • 2 teaspoons cane syrup (optional)

  • 5 ounces white rum

  • 2 tablespoons lime juice

  • 2 slices green apple

  • Ice cubes

Mix syrup, rum and lime juice in a tall glass.  Add ice cubes.  Pour cider slowly and stir briefly.  Decorate with apple slices. Share with a friend. (Serves two.)
